On top of that, USC is romping and it would appear that, perhaps, UCLA has found a team it can beat. (If things continue, they will be cancelling next year's opener against St. Mary's Sisters of Mercy.)

I don't follow baseball but it's always fun to tune in at the end of the season and check how everyone did. I take it Los Angeles is pretty good (or the Cubs just dont match up well against them). What's next for the Dodgers, Phillies? Like to see that and then Dodgers vs Angels. I may tune in and watch a game or two if those matchups materialize.
    Lets go Brent!

The phillies are up 2-1 against the brewers so lets hope they can close the deal on that one. Dodgers vs. Phillies would be a good series as Dodgers have been playing great since they picked up Ramirez and the Phillies finished the season playing as well as anyone. Both teams put runs on the board so it will come down to pitching. Hamels is an excellent ace but I get a little nervous about the rest of the staff.

If the Dodgers don't start getting some hitting from the bottom half of the line-up the Philly series could be a painful experience. I can't see a team going very far into the fall with only three or four guys hitting.

    From the LA Times:

Enough, already, about the Cubs and their 100 years of futility.

To fans of soccer's Notts County, the Wrigley Field outfit is merely a newcomer to the frustration game. Notts County was founded in 1862, and 146 years later it is still waiting to win its first English league championship.

The last and only time the Magpies won England's other big prize, the F.A. Cup, was in 1894 -- 114 years ago.

    So there.

Thank you. Suck it, P! Yesterday was very odd for me. I was in Lincoln, at the stadium watching my Tigers beat the snot out of the Huskers while at the same time getting texts about my Cubs losing.

Without question, the best line to come out of the playoffs so far, with an excellent chance to be an all-time favorite: From Ernie Johnson on the TBS postgame show after the 5-hour and 19-minute game had concluded: "You should consult your doctor if your postseason game lasts more than four hours."
