    Default Beer Bottle Tech?

Why in the world are brewers going through all the trouble and spending all this money on beer bottle tech. Take the new vortex bottle by miller, who cares about it. If you like miller you will drink miller no matter what the bottle looks like. And the new Coors boxes with windows and "cold activation", how about people just buy a 12 pack from the cooler and then poor one into a frosty mug. Can we not feel the box or bottles and tell if they are cold.

If you want to make a change (CORONA) put your beer in to a brown bottle so it lasts a Little longer. Gone are the real days of innovation for the beer bottle like the twist off cap or the cap in general. Even the aluminum bottle wasn't terrible but lets be honest its a can in the shape of the bottle, there is no real innovation there.

On a taste note, why would miller high life need to be a lite beer, the high life already tastes like water and they decided to water it down more.

Just keep your fruit away from my beer and everything will be fine.

There isn't too much more they can do to promote the product based on the product itself (besides, perhaps, adding flavor and body). So they play with the packaging. The first example I ran across of this was with Guiness. They put some kind of doodad in a can that was supposed to make it taste like draught. What came out was extra fizzy canned beer. Bah.
I find Corona beer facinating. How did they train the cats to p1ss into the bottles?

    R.I.P. Cyrano and Roxanne.

I enjoy an orange slice with a hefeweizen. Other than that I cant think of any fruit that goes with beer and I cant stand fruit flavored beer.

I know they are markketing gimmicks. I am wondering why. Who realy buys a beer because it has a vortex neck?

    Heresy!
The guiness doodad is a Nitrogen charge, so that the beer from the can tastes similar to Guiness draft.
If you ever had the old style bottled Guiness, it tasted nothing like the Giuness you got from darft.

I don't know. Probably not too many people consciously. It's just another catchy thing to put on commercials, like the mountains turning blue when Coors gets cold. Bud, Miller and Coors lights are all basically the same (bad, IMO) product, that sells strictly on the marketing teams. Anything to stand out, I guess.

This is true I bought a 32oz Guinness bottle with the Golden label no widget I could not stomach the stuff. The widget does a guinness can good. I do like the guinness can better than bottles if I can not get draught and I just got my official guinness spoon.

here's a cautionary tale that was spured on by the cats peeing in Corona. I was in Mexico and I was driving by a coke distributor and I saw two guys filling bottles of water with a garden hose and putting them into cases. Just beware and take your own water. Also if in Mexico drink Dos XX lager (green bottle) very good there.
