Thread: Post game interviews

    Default Post game interviews

Is it just me or are post game interviews just completely boring now-a-days? If I hear one more cliche from another athlete I might puke.

Back in the day, John Kruk, Dennis Rodman, or Charles Barkley might have said anything during a tough loss interview. Now all you get are cliches and "we worked really hard and so did they"- type crap.

Basically, Sportscenter for me, has turned into reading the bottom line and moving on. Am I alone?

Part of the problem is that interviewers never actually ask questions. The trend is to say things like "your defense stepped it up today, talk about your defense ", or "Kobe really carried the offense, tell us about that". All the athlete has to do is agree with the premise that the "interviewer" throws out there. It's been a pet peeve of mine for some time now, no one knows how to ask real questions.

I never noticed that. You're probably right. I'll pay more attention to that from now on.
