It is rumored that the PAC 10 will offer spots in a conference of 16 to 6 big twelve schools. Those schools are Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, OSU and Colorado.

I think would improve all of the sports in the Pac 10, wrestling would aided by the addition of Ok and Ok state. Football would get a big boost from nearly every school except colorado and A&M, this would make the Pac the second best football conference after the SEC. Baseball where I think the Pac was already strong would benefit from the texas and oklahoma schools as well. This would create a power conference in nearly all sports. Good for the Pac bad for the Big 12 and possibly bad for the big 10.

This would be good for the PAC10 wrestling becasue you will have at least two teams (OU and OSU) which are among the few schools in the nations that won't drop wrestling.

And what about Iowa St., Missuori and Nebraska in wrestling?

As I said in an earlier thread, it would be nice to see some of the top teams wrestle at Stanford, I'd definitely make the 45 minute drive to see that.

maybe the new pac 10 could incorporate all of the big twelve wrestling programs, not all the schools but just the wrestling. It would make it the second toughest wrestling conference in the nation and perhaps help to support other wrestling programs already in the pac 10.

There is a nice breakdown of this situation on YAHOO sports today-apparently Texas is big ? bound and about 15 strong schools will lose nearly all athletics .

I don't know about ISU, but the latest is that there is mutual interest between the bigten and Nebraska and Missouri. From what I'm reading, Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State would all be left out in the cold if the pac-10 and bigten both get the schools they're rumored to want. The latest reports are that the Big-12 has given an ultimatum to Missouri and Nebraska to make a decision by Friday.

If the bigten adds the schools their rumored to add to make the conference 16 teams. It would be a complete super conference in wrestling. In addition to adding Nebraska and Mizzou, they're also rumored to be looking at Pitt, Rutgers and Syracuse. The 'cuse would have to bring back their program, but that probably wouldn't be a problem with the extra money the school would stand to gain from membership in the conference.

Personally, I'd like to see a 14 team bigten with the new teams being Mizzou, Nebraska and Pitt.
