Dolphins often give the Pats trouble even on the years they have terrible teams. It's a llittle early to be burying the Pats, even though they looked horrible today.

They did have Brady for 20 of those victories. They are only 1-1 without him. I dont think you can expect this version of the Patriots to win 21 out of the next 22 games. An 8 and 8 season may not be far off from what eventually happens in New England this year. Next year they may be back to championship form, provided Brady is able to recover from his injury.

I agree and 8-8 season is reasonable expectation at this point, but so is a 10-6 record and a playoff spot. I believe the Patriot schedule was rated as the easiest in the NFL.

As far as next year, if the Dolphin's game was any indication, they need to revamp the defense if they are going to get back into championship form.

Quick question ... since when did Tom Brady play defense? Or did they not give up 38 points to a team that only scored 24 in the first two games combined?

I'll try and answer that one, although my football knowledge is very limited. With Brady not in there, running the score up and making the opponent one dimentional, as they try and pass their way back into the contest, the New England defense has to stay more honest and play a complete game, against a team that can mix it up on them.

In other words, since New England isn't blowing anyone out without Brady, their opponents are able to play their game and not worry about making up a huge deficit.
