Do you really think A-Rod isn't juicing?

Then stopped the game for Cal Ripken to do a victory lap when we broke his record, no one seemed to upset at the time.

Also IMO, they should not have stopped the game like that. I can see maybe doin it after the game, but not in the middle of an inning. What ever happened to a guy just steppin out of the dugout and takin his hat off to the crowd?
Guys don't break the home run record every day!
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

No, but it will become more frequent.

"Taking one" for the team has a whole different meaning now...

Taking one for the team will always just have one meaning in my book.

I didn't watch Cal break his record. I just don't think it's right. It's like breaking records is more important than winning now in baseball. It doesn't even seem like Bond's has been too concerned about how his team is doing, it's been all about him breaking the record. That is something I don't agree with also. I have no idea as I am too young, so can anyone tell me how Aaron acted when he broke Babe's record?

    Two points:

    1. Breaking a major record IS more important then an individual baseball game in a 162 game season.

    2. If you wait til the end of the game, you run the risk of the record braker's team losing, which puts a damper on what should be a celebration.

    This was handled properly.

    Brother Curtis,
I was fortunate enough to see (via TV of course ) both Aaron's 715th and Bonds 756 live! On April 8th, 1974 I was 13 years old, sitting on our coach with my arm around my 6 yr old little brother, watching the game on our black and white TV with tin foil on wrapped around the rabbit ear antennia when the great event occured. Last night I was 46yrs old, sitting on the couch with my arm around my 11 yr old son and 14 yr old daughter watching the game on a 42" plasma tv. The only thing that didn't change was my goose bumps and jumping up and down (albiet a little lower and slower thanks to my new hip!) with someone(s) I love, happier than a pig in sh it !

To answer your question Brother Chenowith, when Hank hit it out, they stopped the game, had his mom, wife and son out on the field and let Hank thank the fans, friends and family. Then as now, we had a lame-ass commissioner (Bowie Kuhn) who didn't attend the historic game . I think there were even fireworks in 74. Pretty much the same as yesterday in every respect. I agree with Brother Vak Attack, the proceedings were well done and appropriate given the magnitude of the event.

    A-Rod is not juicing.
Bonds juiced, Giambi, Palmerio, Sosa, Canseco, McGuire and others all juiced no question about it.
