cop caught on tape

I was just skimming through youtube when i came upon a video-'cop caught on tape trying to have sex with 13 year old girl '- normally i would be outraged at the cop but in this case the girl-who is a paid decoy-sets the guy up with all sorts of suggestive talk -
Don't get me wrong the dude is a perv yet should the internet police be allowed to entrap anyone in this manner ?
The guy was a 24 year old detective from Northern Indiana and drove all the way to Ky. to meet this little girl-but nothing happened because the police came in as soon as he arrived -
I think he will beat the case in court but lose his career -I just feel uneasy about the way he was entrapped and I am usually happy as a lark to see a cop get busted -but this is wrong .

Actually, that is very very common way to nab pedofiles. There have been stings that have nabbed 20-25 peds in a wekend. That "13" year old is actually an adult cop. It is illegal to use juvies as bait.

If you want to play with fire, be prepared to burn. I don't have a problem with the trap. These guys are out there hunting so let's get them off the street. No different than a cop posing as Lola on the street corner or looking to buy a bag.

We had a guy at work last week get hauled out for bringing in kid porn on cruizer drive and viewing it on his pc. He had been at it for ten years before being caught. So much for his wife and three kids. Needless to say the entire Department was in shock.

Me, neither. Someone with honorable intentions has nothing to worry about. And hasn't he ever seen Dateline?

I haven't watched the video so I can't have much opinion, but I agree with RYou and Spider. The overwhelming majority of officers are decent, moral and ethical people, but like in every profession there are a few that need weeded out. I'm glad to hear this one was exposed.

On a side note, he was 24 and a detective? Officers rarely have a good grasp of the street in five years, but he was a dick in less than three? Wow.
