    Default Nba

I dont watch much basketball typically im watching wrestling, mma, football, lost or always sunny in philadelphia. But i decided to check in on the standings and read a few articles and it looks like the usual suspects are going to make the playoffs with the lakers being the favorites again.

I had so much fun debating last years playoffs that i am really looking forward to this postseason. Does anyone have any thoughts or predictions?

Here are some threads from last year.

Lol I had forgotten about those spirited debates from last year. I too fail to follow basket ball at all, unless the LA Lakers are in the later rounds of the playoffs. Seems like thats every single year, but i've only been following the sport for a couple of years. I look forward to more predictions from the usual suspects and especially with interest to see if Zapp can improve on his picks from last year.

if zapp makes one correct pick this playoffs he will have improved. His best bet is to just pick the lakers in the first round.

Those were some good converstations while the Cavaliers were still alive.

The Cavs starting 2-2 on the year may be the best thing that happened to them. Folks were writing them off early. I vastly underestimated the importance of Shak in the middle against Orlando and the Lakers.

There is a reason that Cleveland is 2-0 against LA this year (it was the reverse last year). The is no comparison between this year's Cleveland bench and last year's. West, Varajao, Z, JAMARIO MOON, and Gibson would be a damn fine starting five and that's the bench. They are as strong defensively as the starters (maybe even a touch better). The opposition does not get a break when this team is firing on all cylinders, which is happening more and more.

Cleveland has some injuries at the moment: Williams with a bad shoulder will be out 4-5 weeks. Gibson will reclaim some minutes in the rotation that he had lost to Jamario Moon (in essence). Moon, athletic and defensive minded, will be out for a bit more time. I was upset with the last telecast (Cavs and Lakers) in that the announcers neglected to mention even once that Moon was out with injury. He was such a big part of Cleveland's Christmas day domination of the Lakers that I was mistified that the announcers didn't realize what a loss he is to the rotation.

Bottom line: Cleveland, right now, has the best team in their history.

    Predictions???

Good post Steve. For the record, I would love to see Cleveland get into the championship.
