So is it twenty-ten or two thousand, ten?

Hope all of you had a safe entry into twenty-ten (small argument with my wife, who insists on two thousand ten). A happy and prosperous year to all.

I've given this a lot of thought (I know, get a life, Spider), and I've come to the conclusion that two thousand, ten is correct. Here's why:

1965 is pronounced nineteen sixty five, but that's just an abbreviated way of saying nineteen hundred, sixty five because nineteen hundred is an acceptable way of saying 1900. But twenty hundred is not an appropriate way of saying 2000. It's always two thousand. So 2010 must correctly be said as two thousnad, ten.

Mrs. Richardson is right.
