    Default Roasted, Now Toasted

Done deal, Weis is out. The guessing game begins.

Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops ave said no publicly. Others have said that before and have changed their minds. It is Notre Dame you know.

If not Stoops or Meyer, then who? They've always raided another schools headcoach, so the top assistants are likely out.

Brian Kelly, Cincinnati - Don't know if he can draw national talent.
Stanford's Jim Harbough - not tested by time though he's done an admirable job at Stanford
Gary Patterson, TCU - no question that developing the talent not headed to UTexas is difficult task
John Gruden - young guy, another with NFL acclaim, but has never had to recruit his talent. Untested and another Charlie Weis gamble.

Another announcement is due out of Tallahassee today. If not for the impending NCAA action on his coaching victories Bobby B would be hanging around, but my guess is he's packing it in as headcoach. The sport will miss him for sure. As much as you may not like FSU, you gotta like Coach B.

Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

What about a guy like Chris Peterson of Boise State, though I'm not sure if he would go or not.

If you listen to the comments by Stoops, he really dances around. He never said NO, actually he made sure the radio hosts knew he didn't say no. I think he would consider the opportunity. I also heard a Tony Dungy rumor today, but i'm not really sold on that.

Wow, that could be a hot one. He hadn't come to mind. Dungy has interceded in the woes of LeGarrette Blount (Oregon running back) and Michael Vick and others. He's well known for his ethics and character, particularly with young troubled men. He's got the winning reputation and character ND looks for. That would be a highly creditable pick.

Hey that wasn't nice! Why is my keyboard all wet and smell like urine? I think Dungy would be a GREAT hire for them but would he do it?

I thought one of the reasons Dungy got out of coaching was to have more time with his family... that after the death of his son he was wanting to re-prioritize family time.

Dungy has denied any interest in the job now...most coaches you would have to take that with a grain of salt, but I think Tony is a pretty straight shooter about these kinds of things.
