maroon-n-gold, playing in his first pickem of the year tied Ms. Stardust and Big Stiffy with 11 points going 7 for 10. Big Stiffy hit on two big upsets, Stanford and Northwestern to put him at the top of the dog pile this week and gain his 3rd Jimmy title for the year.

Big Stiffy was the only one to pick the Northwestern upset of Wisconsin to join Dum Dum with the home team win. Trusty, The Du and RYou were the only ones to foresee UConn finally overcoming the last minute losses of the past. Big Stiffy maroon-n-gold and ViseGrip were the sole winners with the Stanford upset of California.

Gage outpointed SGallan 9 to 8 to go up by two points for the season championship. Gallan's gamble on Michigan failed to pay off though the Wolverine defense had their best game of the year. Sloppy play by the freshman quarterback killed any chance for the upset.

The gamble on Michigan was a brain dead moment. I had my mind made up to do something I had never done before; bet against my favorite team. And then when I actually got around to selecting, I selected Michigan entirely without thinking, because that is what I have done, for decades, in various polls, and competitions.

I've said it before, don't pickem with your heart. I look at it this way, if you pick OSU and Michigan wins, well sacrificing the point for the upset is well worth it. On the flip side if Michigan loses, well the consolation prize is the point.

Knowing the history of OSU v UM, it wasn't so off the wall. I was considering it, but opted for a couple of others with better odds. Caught a flyer with UConn.
