    Didn't have enough time to summit, spent the time backpacking around the park.

    That is one of the most difficult mountains to summit on, the weather is worse there than lots of the 8000m peaks. In fact Denali is just about the only sub 8000m peak that Everest guides will accept as a credential to climb Everest.

    Actually, he spent more time backwoods salmon fishing than hitting the switchbacks. The day before they headed back to Washington, he went halibut fishing and shipped home 200 lbs of filet. :-)

    yeah if I made it to Alaska I'd be hard pressed not to spend most of my time fishing. Does your son climb?
