Default Ohio State ties USC over 30 minutes!

    Who would have thunk it?

Yikes, I meant to write Ohio State in the header.

Even more impressive to me is that they had a lead with less than 1 minute to play.

The people I spoke with felt that USC would crush the Buckeyes and embarrass them on their own home field. Minus he final drive, Ohio State clearly out played USC. I imagine the huge Buckeye crowd in attendance left disappointed, but if their team can play like that every time out, they might not lose another game - until the next time they're in a bowl...

Our quarterback was exposed though. With the field position the defense and special teams handed the offense they MUST score more than 15 points. Very disappointing.

Maybe a different system could maximize his talents. Or a different position, like wide receiver.

I agree. Pryor is a good athlete, but not a very good QB.

Heck, they only scored 13. The defense/special teams scored the other 2.

I thought both lines for Ohio State played magnificently. Sure USC was conservative because of the young quarterback, but the Buckeyes were winning the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

I was with a house full of USC fans and every last one had a long face by the end of the 1st quarter. There was a brief period of relief by half time but more of the frustration was evident on their expressions as soon as the third quarter began. Of course when the final points were scored, all of them were congratulating each other for never having a doubt in the outcome. Ha Ha.

USC is using 9 new starters on D with the graduations, NFL defections and 1 ineligible, so they aren't the crunch machine they've been the past two years.

OSU is weak in the D backfield and linebackers, heck on that 2 point conversion, 2 OSU backs had ground on the receiver and he barrelled through them to cross the goal line.

As for OSU special teams responsible for 2 points, let's not overlook it was a snap over the punter's head. Not exactly a forced error.

Well who ever forced it, it certainly wasn't the offense. Best the O can take credit for is 13 points.

As a Columbus native and life long buckeye fan, I'd like to apologize for making the rest of the nation watch that pathetic excuse for an offensive game plan.

I don't blame the defense at all. So, they gave up one solid drive all game. If the offense had stayed on the field for more than a few plays in the 4th quarter and given the D a little time to rest, who knows if they could have held again.

Also, I'd like to ask the rest of you this question. If you're up by only 5 and you have the chance to kick a 53 yard field goal, with the wind, with a kicker who's already proven he has solid 55+ yard range, would you take a delay of game and punt, or kick the damn field goal to go up by 8?
