Default Movies that need to be re-made

Sitting here after surgery and nothing else to do but watch tv and came across a movie I hadn't seen in awhile that I thin should be re-made.

Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai

List yours and who you'd like to see in them.

Remakes are a waste of the investment. They never come close to matching, never mind exceeding, the quality of the original.

I was never able to watch John David Booty quarterback USC without thinking of Buckaroo Bonzai.

I disagree, some remakes are done well. I think the best "remakes" are often the ones that completely change the theme to something comedic.

Examples - "Stalag 17" to the t.v. series "Hogans Hero's" , "Airport 1975" to the film "Airplane".

With a change in theme in mind I could see some of these films remade with different stars -

"Rocky" - Carrot Top replaces Sylvester Stallone

"Alien" - Fran Drescher replaces Sigourney Weaver

"They call me MISTER Tibbs" - Eddie Murphy replaces Sidney Poitier

"Godfather" - Danny DeVito replaces Marlon Brando

"Omega Man" - Pee Wee Herman replaces Charlton Heston

Airplane was a parody, not a remake. Parodies are often very good, remakes are almost never good.

What if the original sucked but could've been a good movie if done right?

What remake did you like?

The film "King Kong" made in 1976 was much better then the 1932 version. I have not seen the 2005 film so I have no idea how well or poorly that film was made.

I know there are other remakes that I thought were better films even if you don't count parodies.
