State regulation vary widely as to how often or even why a gas stations pumps are checked for accuracy.

Many consumers are being ripped off by gas stations giving less gas then the pumps say they are giving.

I think inspections should be mandatory with a structured fine system that increased the level of fines for multiple failures.
