Rumors have swirled around the Chinese gymnastics team that many of the female gymnasts were too young to compete in the Olympics. (Under age 16)

This article claims proof that at least one of the gymnasts is too young to compete.

I wonder if the Olympic committee with have the guts to take away the gold medal?!?

I doubt the IOC will deal with this publicly. It would be far too embarassing for the host country. Not only would it alter the high bar results, but also the team result if He is dq'd. Heck, heads could roll (and not literally) in China if this is made an issue.

The IOC has already stated that their investigation has shown no proof of wrongdoing by China. I know a couple of spots in Tiajuana where you can get a really good California Drivers License for $50. Do you suppose that the issuing agency (Chinese government) would have any trouble creating ID for these ladies?

there was an article today where the head of the IOC condemned the 100/200 meter champ for unsportsman like conduct-that coming from a chairperson opf a commitee convicted of accepting bribes -

BEIJING -- The International Olympic Committee asked the international gymnastics federation Friday to reexamine whether gold-medal-winning gymnast He Kexin and two of her teammates were too young to compete in the Beijing Games.

"You shouldn't regard this as a formal investigation, but we have asked the international gymnastics federation to look into a number of questions and discrepancies on these cases," IOC spokeswoman Giselle Davies said.
