The moment I saw the title of the thread I know what it is.

I have nothing good to say to him so I might as well keep quiet.

I loved thriller, but that scum bag is gone. Thank God.
I wish I could kick Matt Dragon in the balls. In his Dragonballz.

I think it's sad. Like Farah Fawcett, he was a star to my generation, and so some of my youth passes away. I guess you had to be there.

If you can separate the child molester from the entertainer, yes, I agree. Many other entertainment icons of our generation like Chuck Berry or Sam Cooke weren't the nicest people in real life, but Michael was a victim of the age of information and his transgressions were right in our faces.

I guess I'm invoking a separation. Whatever he did (I don't think he was convicted of anything), there was a time when he was young (matching roughly my youth) and his voice was pure, and those songs remain. Analogy: I suspect Paul McCartney may have one of the largest egos in history, and find it distasteful when that surfaces, but his contribution to music (and to the lives of those who were young when the Beatles came along) is immeasurable and cannot be diminished.

When people we grew up with and were part of our lives, like Michael, Farrah, Elvis or John Lennon, die, it's as if part of us (or at least part of our childhood) dies, too. Also, sometimes it's easy to separate the artist from the person and sometimes it's not. I know I'll never watch another Mel Gibson movie again no matter how entertaining it may be.

In honor of Michael Jackson, McDonald's has created a new hamburger:

It's a piece of 50 year old meat between two 10 year old buns.....
