I think Jane was a misguided liberal who thought she was doing the right thing by protesting the war. She may have gone over the top, but she had good intentions.

Oh, oh, is this a thread hyjacking in the making?

OJ wasn't convicted either. Do you think he killed Nicole and Ron?

Ok, i will give you that MJ didn't help his own image by having kids over all the time. He made some mistakes assuredly, but must we spread this vile message after a man has died? Seems a bit sick to me. Takes a different kind of person to be that happy with a mans death.

I'm not happy that he died, but I'm not real upset about it either. What bothers me is that everywhere you look you see Michael extolled as the King of Pop. People are greiving in the streets, instant biographies abound, and he has become more popular in death than he was in life. How can all these people ignore the fact that their fallen idol [most likely] was a child molester, whom they would sooner spit on than give the time of day if he couldn't carry a tune and dance a few steps. Phil Spector also revolutionized pop music, but he's where he belongs.

ok...so you can be disappointed with the media aspect and people coming out of the woodwork talking about how much they loved michael, etc. You don't have to pay any attention to that, but most importantly those are things that Michael cannot control and probably wouldn't like since he was known for being a complete recluse regarding the media, etc.

Sorry Spider, I'm with MR on this one. My cousin was in the Hanoi Hilton when Fonda and Joan Baez paid a visit and were allowed to meet with the POWs. It was all staged to give the impression of fair treatment, reality was anything but. My Cousin shock her hand and slipped a note to while doing so. The note documented the horrendous treatment of the POWs.

She opened the note and handed it over to the Captain of the POW quarters. As soon as she left, my cousin was put in solitary, again, for 14 days with his elbows tied behind his back and ankle shackles. He had to crawl on the ground to get to his plate of food and water bowl each day. If he spilled his water bowl his whipped with a rubber hose.

Sorry, there's nothing she can do to atone for her actions....
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Maybe she was just stupid and naive, but unlike celbs like OJ, Michael, Mel Gibson or Woody, she thought she was doing the moral thing. I understand that her stupidity might have done more harm than good and I sincerely respect and appreciate the hardships that our soldiers suffered in that war during and after their tours of duty.
