Yea right, they cut baseball and softball but look at some of the sports they keep airpistol, archery, sync diving, trampoline what the heck and these sports will get more coverage then Wrestling.

I watched the mens gymnastics yeasterday and couldn't figure out how they scored.
The US mens were flawless through 4 events yet fell into second place behind China. I know of two times that the Chinese stepped out of bounds and heard they did it a third time, but the announcers keep saying "it's not that bad".
Does anyone else think that since they were supposed to win they recieved higher scores than what they should have?
Since these are supposed to be miscellaneous - I have a question: Does Brandi Chastain ever stop to take a breath? I appreciate the expertise of her commentary, but 5 seconds of silence might be refreshing.

Two parts to the score - one for difficulty, one for execution. The difficulty score is fixed based on the elements in the routine, as long as the gymnast does them all. The Chinese difficulty (or the "A" score) was so high in most of their routines that even if they had slight mistakes, their final score would still be much higher than another gymnast that did an easier routine perfectly.
Example - on the women's side, one of the US gymnasts fell on her back on her dismount from the bars, but she still got a high score.
