Singer/composer who won the Oscar for the iconic theme to the early 1970s movie "Shaft"... and, more recently, the voice of Chef on TV's "SouthPark."

I just read about Issac Hayes on a news site. I remember Issac Hayes from when I was a kid, but I only remembered his work with "Shaft." He has such a memorable imprint on me but beyond Shaft I dont remember what else he did. It could be that I have some psychological block to the disco era that maybe Brother Morris can help me through. Nonetheless, I'm pleased to see a thread in his honor. Thanks, ideamar--pm

Wasn't he also a Scientologist ?as well as Chef's voice -although he left the show due to some thing or another -A complex and extraordinary man -he will be missed .
