Will be pulling for Griffin, but think Sherk will be too much for him. Sherk by UD. http://mmajunkie.com/news/4990/tyson...-at-ufc-90.mma |

It certainly won't be a boring fight. Hopefully lots of bombs and good old fashioned GNP.

Awesome fight. I haven't been this excited for a fight in a long time. This matches up very well. Tyson is very slick on the ground (Kneebar attempt against Edgar was beautiful, the omoplata escape in the Tavares fight was incredible), while Sherk has an excellent top game. Both are big for LWs, but Sherk hands down is the bigger, stronger man in this fight. Not only doesn Sherk have the edge in strength, he has phenominal cardio, his overall body (movement) speed is ridiculous, his wrestling is pretty much A level, he has a HUGE heart, his level of intensity is very hard to deal with, he just keeps coming and coming and coming no matter what round it is. Sherk could be at a disadvantage in the stand up game, but his hand speed could keep Griffin at bay a bit. However, Tyson does hit alot harder (imo) than Sherk. Tyson's wrestling is no joke, and his BJJ is better than Sherk's. As I said earlier, Sherk has heart, but IMO Tyson does more-so. However, Sherk is just too much for Griffin. Sherk via UD. Here's how I look at the matchups, skill wise. PHYSICAL/MISC Strength:Sherk Speed:Sherk Cardio:Sherk Heart:Tyson (But it's a toss up) Experience:Sherk Composure:Sherk Pace:Sherk Overall advantage:Sherk, hands down STAND UP Power:Griffin Speed:Sherk Head/body movement:Tie, but Griffin could edge Sherk out here Chin:Tie, but Griffin most likely has a smaller chance of getting KO'd, as Sherk has never been known as a powerful or explosive striker Striking selection:Griffin Accuracy:Griffin Overall:Tyson GROUND GAME: Wrestling:Sherk BJJ/subs:Griffin Sub defense:Most likely Sherk Top game:Sherk Overall: Sherk So, there you have it. Sorry for the long post, but I'm pretty much an MMA nerd. |
