Pulver is far from the fighter he once was, a win over him now does not hold the same weight it once did. Anyway Fabers win over Pulver was at 145, last we saw of Pulver he was getting beat down by Penn and knocked out by a young Joe Lauzon. Meanwhile Uno just made it to the semifinals of the Dream grand prix.

When you fight much bigger opponents, and better opponents overall, you will occasionally get a bad break, as Kid did vs. Bozo. I think most fighters would shrug their shoulders at such a loss, as opposed to the reality check that getting beat down, as Faber did vs. the then unheralded Griffin (he had 2 fights under his belt before he destroyed Faber!), provides. Pulver hasn't been an elite fighter in many, many years, whereas Uno was still a very viable fighter when Kid beat him. Plus Sudo. Plus he has solid K-1 results, plus has put in a lot of time training for the Olympics....even without being completely focused on his MMA career, he has been dominant and has one loss in a seven+ year career. Faber may equal him someday, but he has a ways to go.

Bringing up Genki to support Kid really doesn't say much either, as that was another awful stoppage. | |

I thought Kid was from AZ and wrestled at Marcos De Niza High School 3x state champ. Originally from Japan but lived his high school and junior high years in AZ. I could be thinking of another Yamamoto. He lived with Towsend Saunders for a while.

Regarding a comparison b/w Uno and Pulver, Pulver had a better run, but that was many, many years ago. Uno is still very relevant in a heavier weight class, Pulver has limited success at 145. The Sudo stoppage might have been quick, but there have been far worse stoppages, and he's one of the few with a win over Sudo. Give Faber a few more years and some actually dangerous opponents, and he can be compared with Kid.
