Default WEC - August 3
Between free broadcast TV, free cable, premium cable, & PPV, the MMA cards seem to be coming fast and furious the past several weeks. Yet another free card this Sunday on Versus. WEC, with 3 title fights (although I wonder what the deal is with light heavyweight since they are supposedly eliminating that weight class and the former champ recently fought outside Zuffa). Here's the card. Care to make some picks, add some thoughts on the matchups, status of the light heavy division, etc.?

Fight Card:

Carlos Condit Vs. Hiromitsu Miura (TITLE FIGHT) - 170

Brian Stann Vs. Steve Cantwell (TITLE FIGHT) - 205

Jamie Varner Vs. Marcus Hicks (TITLE FIGHT) - 155

Brian Bowles Vs. Damacio Page - 135

Micah Miller Vs. Josh Grispi - 145

Brock Larson Vs. Carlo Prater - 170

Blas Avena Vs. Dave Terrel - 170

Shane Roller Vs. Todd Moore - 155

Mike Budnik Vs. Greg McIntyre - 155

LC Davis vs. Hiroyuki Takaya - 145

WEC continues to put out great cards with title fights, contender fights, and intriguing match ups in general. I look forward to seeing Varner in his first title fight, Conditt is always entertaining to watch and should cruise in this fight. I am also looking forward to the Page vs. Bowles fight as well as Prater vs. Larson and of course seeing former college wrestling stars Jorgenson and Roller.

The wec card after this looks even better.

LC Davis (Former Missouri Valley wrestler, then fought in the IFL) is also on that card making his WEC debut. He is fighting Hiroyuki Takaya since Cub Swanson got injured.

DH - Is that a recent add to the card? That fight is not listed on the WEC website for this event, and I don't see Davis on their roster.

Gantry - I believe you are correct.

Looks like an excellent card, and 3 title fights is great. Just wish that they would do it on Sat night.

It was just added yesterday. I heard the news from LC so I'm pretty sure its accurate. Plus after the IFL buyout, most of the IFL fighters are going to UFC and WEC (and WEC has been slow in the past to update their site).
