It is essentially a warm up fight to hold him over since he is next in line for a title fight.

WTH? If they need a can, why not just give him Gonzaga again?

I think Nog-Werdum would be as boring as their first meeting, only this would would last for 25 minutes. Too similar

Agreed but there are not many options in the heavyweight division right now. They have some prospects in Lesnar, Velasquez, and Carwin but none of them are ready for a title shot. If Herring beats Lesnar would you really want to see him fight Nog for a fourth time? Kongo is coming off a loss to Herring and would get subbed pretty quickly by Nog.

Agree, the UFC isn't that interesting at Hwt right now. The guys you metioned would take one of the Brazilians down and then get submitted by them. I don't want to see Herring-Nog again.

Mir-Nog could be interesting, but I think Mir will fear Nog's ground skills too much and probably gas as usual too, so I don't see him winning that one.

Vera is the one guy willing to fight at Hwt who presents an interesting matchup with everyone listed.

If Kongo's takedown defense continues to improve, he could present a CC-like matchup for one of the Brazilians which makes for an interesting fight

Id like to see them throw Kongo out there and maybe Velasquez, as noted it is a weak division and I also dont want to see no repeats but given the lack of quality fighters we may be forced to watch some and guys that shoudl be gone will be around longer.

Bring back Ricco.

It will be interesting to see how long Vera stays at 205. After my man Jardine puts it to him I wonder if he will go back up to the 205.

I think Vera should stick to lhw, the heavyweight bjj guys will be too much and the bigger wrestlers will be able to take him down and control him.

The UFC has a packed LHW class with lots of interesting matchups. The same can not be said about Hwt. Too many guys with cardio problems and with weaknesses in their game. So Vera is good for the Hwt weight class just to keep it exciting; he's one of their most well rounded guys. It's also a belt some of the LHWs could contend for

Well, that seems to be what we're eventually going to see as it was reported that Werdum's new contract states that he'll get a title shot should he win his next fight.

From a depth perspective I agree it is better to have Vera at heavyweight. I just dont see him ever reaching a title fight at heavyweight as he is too small for the top guys.

He is very talented though and I would love to see him fight against some of the better guys at lhw.
