Thread: Affliction vs. UFC

    Default Affliction vs. UFC

any info on how the "head to head" competition turned out? I'm interested in a comparison of the numbers as well as opinions. Since it is impossible to pin point the exact PPV numbers that Affliction might have pulled sans the UFC airing the same night on cable, I realize that comparisons can be kinda apple-ly/ orangish.

I only know the live gate for Afflication was just over $2m, which is good. I imagine that is greater than the UFC's gate.

I have no clue on PPV buys, but I'm thinking they did better than we expected. I now think it will be in the area of 150g - 200g. UFC probably had a million viewers (I would guess) - I think they had 5m for the Bisping-Hamill fight

The UFC posted a 3.8 rating for UFN 14. That's 3.8 million, more then Fox's MLB coverage that day.

The UFC still has quite a ways to go to catch Elite's debut performance. I have faith that, with enough time, they will get there.

    That is really high.

But I stil think Affliction PPV did better than we were all thinking weeks ago. I expect we will know for sure soon.

A lot of internet fans were more interested in that event and the money spent on seats is impressive too.

If Affliction and Dream came together in some way, I think that would create a real rival to the UFC and one that would be ahead of them internationally.
