Frank Shamrock has been cleared to fight, and there is certainly talk about a Frank Shamrock vs. Cung Le rematch. But the interesting thing is that a proposed fight from a while back looks like it's back on the table. We're talking about Frank Shamrock vs. Ken Shamrock, everyone. In fact, that fight could happen next.
I hate that matchup. Maybe it will resonate with fans, but the actual matchup sucks.

Even though both guys aren't nearly as good as we thought they were years ago (or as good as they think they are right now), this fight could be a blockbuster.
The Shamrocks were names people knew of long before the UFC took off. Ken was always a big draw for the UFC and Dana always wanted Frank to return, but wouldn't meet his price tag (and they ended up hating each other over it)
I suggest they put together good 2nd and 3rd fights to sell themselves and provide the critics with less fuel

Ken is bigger and stronger, but Frank is a much better fighter. I don't think Frank would fight him if he thought he could lose.

Agree Dingo, Frank used to say Ken would win but Ken is less of a contender than Frank is now by far.
Ken could win if he takes him down, but will probably get KOd standing and it will be a short fight.
I want Ken; along with Randleman and Coleman, I always stuck by those guys even though things haven't always gone well. I like Frank too, but he's as full of himself as DW is

I just think Frank is a pioneer unlike almost any other in MMA. He was a truly well-rounded, talented MMA fighter who could win in many ways--perhaps the first of his kind.
I like Ken as an announcer and as a character. He's disappointed me as a fighter since the early UFC era. He couldn't ever seem to win 'the big one'.

I agree, but even before Frank, Ken has to be viewed as one of the original rounded fighters. Frank became better at other aspects of mma, but he learned from Ken initially and Ken was the most well rounded guy at UFC 1. Was the only guy other than Gracie who really knew submissions back then

I agree that Ken was well-rounded on the ground, as he was a solid wrestler and leg-locker and decent with offensive submissions. He was above average with defensive submission ability but I wouldn't say his striking was very good, even compared with competitors back then. That's partially why Pancrase was such a boon for him. He didn't have to worry about getting KO'd on his feet (unless he was facing Bas, one of the few men in the org capable of finishing someone with open-palmed strikes). No striking on the ground and knees were neutralized with heavily padded boots. Ken is one of the best in MMA history with leg locks.

Am I the only one who has no interest in seeing Ken Shamrock fight at all? Possibly the most overrated fighter of all time, and way, WAY past his prime at that. He just doesn;t interest me.

I'd like to see him beat Frank, but otherwise he just continues to damage his legacy.
