Default UFC 73: Quite A Card

    Anderson Silva v. Nate Marquardt
    Sherk v. Hermes Franca
    Heath Herring v. Big Nog
    Rashad v. Tito

So just on the main card we have two title fights, two other fights between big name guys, and then a fight between two tough exciting guys in Florian and Robinson.

I'm on board with those picks. I would like to see Sherk knocked off his throne, but I don't think Franca is the man to do it.

Here's the Payday's for Saturday's fighters. What sticks out to me is that Sherk only gets 28k while Herring got 70k for showing up and Bonnar gets 32k.

UFC 73: OFFICIAL PURSE, ATTENDANCE FIGURES

The California State Athletic Commission has released official attendance and fighters purse figures for Saturday's UFC 73 "Stacked."

The promotion's return to the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif. yielded 8,622 tickets sold for a $1,551,920.00 grossed gate. A final attendance figure of 13,183 spectators watched light heavyweights Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans battle to a draw, while UFC champions Sean Sherk and Anderson Silva successfully defended their titles.

    UFC 73 "Stacked" Reported Purses

    Frank Edgar - $5,000 + $5,000 win bonus

    Jorge Gurgel - $7,000 + $7,000 win bonus

    Stephan Bonnar - $16,000 + $16,000 win bonus
    Mike Nickels - $5,000

    Kenny Florian - $8,000 + $8,000 win bonus

Dana White still had $800K left after paying the fighters. That doesn't even figure in the income from the PPV sales.

I'm also amazed at how much Ortiz got compared to everyone else.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

How does Heath Herring merit $70,000?
Marquart gets $24,000 and Rashad only $16,000.

The $3,000-$5,000 payoff for fighters appearing on a PPV card is appalling!
