Default UFC 86 salaries: Forrest Griffin earns $250K, Quinton Jackson gets $225K

Main-event winner and new UFC lightweight champion Forrest Griffin earned a base salary of $250,000 at UFC 86, and opponent Quinton Jackson picked up $225,000. The two fighters earned the show's highest base salaries -- and more than half the total payroll.

MMAjunkie.com today obtained the list of official salaries from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Total payroll for the pay-per-view event, which took place July 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events in Las Vegas, was $943,000 -- more than half of which went to the night's headliners.

Rampage was only paid a base of 225k? how the hell does he make less base pay than Forrest?

Forrest base pay was 100,000 just to show and his win bonus was 150.000. Forrest is just as popular if not more than Rampage so it is not surprising that he gets paid so well.

I think that's the same as what Rampage got when he beat Chuck. Sounds like flat pay without a win bonus (maybe based on his old WFA contract - the terms at least).

I think you misunderstood me. Rampage was paid $225 when he beat Chuck and he just got $225 in losing to Forrest.

Normally UFC guys get win bonuses - he may have against Chuck and we don't know his payday against Dan, but this was the same payday. (possible that today's base was equal to his last reported base+bonus, or its possible he is paid the same per fight without a win bonus)

The lower tier fighters still get the shaft. If they bumped the minimum payday to $20,000, it would have cost them another $77K. I would say $20K would be more than a fair amount as a minimum.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

That's my stance too (almost exactly).

    Yea I did sorry.

I wonder if Rampage gets an ppv percentages. Also Rampage and Forrest both got 60 k for fight of the night.
