I can't wait for Saturday. If anyone here is in the NYC area and wants to come watch it with us, we have a group of people meeting at the hooters on 56th and broadway since it's one of the only places in manhattan that shows the fight for free. |

I'm actually looking forward to the Franklin Lutter fight as much as any. That will be a telling fight for both of them.

Anyone konw anything about Cain's opponent? I have been a fan of his since he pushed Konrad to the limit in the 2007 NCAA semi's. I can't see Serra even staying close with GSP again, but of course nobody dod the first time either. |

Matt Serra is one of the worlds best BJJ grapplers IMO. He is aggressive and he boxes very very well. St Pierre is the better fighter in that he is a better athlete and more well -rounded but Serra is the type of fighter who has the heart of a lion and skills to match. I thought he beat BJ Penn and he is unafariad of anything. He could win....

Cain wins via TKO due to strikes in 2:10... BRAD MORRIS VS. CAIN VELASQUEZ ROUND 1 -- Velasquez sets the pace early with a series of punches. Morris has little to offer in return and is avoiding few punches. An overhand left from Velasquez drops Morris, who then absorbs an onslaught of punches and elbows. One blow causes his head to hit with a thud as it bounces off the canvas, and the ref warns him to fight back. Velasquez takes his opponent's back and continues effectively tagging Morris. After a quick scramble, Morris is able to escape, but as he tries to throw a punch of his own, he eats an uppercut then sends him crashing to the canvas. The ref jumps in to halt the bout before he loses consciousness. Cain Valesquez def. Brad Morris via TKO (strikes) -- Round 1, 2:10 |

Mac Danzig def Mark Bocek via RNC Rd 3, 3:45. 1st Round: This was the closest round, Bocek got a TD and was on top for about a minute and half, or two minutes. I still think Danzig did enough to win the round as he went for a lighting quick triangle and an omoplata off his back, and struck really well from there. Then he eventually reversed his position and sprinkled in some nice GnP. 2nd Round: Danzig pretty much owned him in this one. He dropped him with a HUGE knee about 30 seconds into the round, and then just really went to work. Bocek did a nice job preventing Danzig from finishing him here. Danzig hit another pretty sweet knee from a whizzer position later in the the round too. 3rd Round: Bocek came out hard and got a TD early, Danzig went for a gogoplata but didn't get it. He eventually got back to his feet and busted Bocek open with another knee. They eventually wound up back on the ground late, and Danzig finished with the rear naked. Kenny Florian is doing color tonight, Rogan is gone for some personal business. Danzig came out to "War Ensemble" by Jedi Mind Tricks which was pretty much awesome. |
