I bet you fedor could go pro as a boxer. Although not sure how far he would go with it, not the same heights as he could with mma.

Of course he "could" go pro. So could I. He just wouldn't do very well, his stand up is to wild with too many hooks.

I agree, he's able to deal with guys in an MMA fight who are better technical boxers than he is by taking them down.
He obviously wouldn't be able to do that in a boxing match.

zapp branigan. I said he wouldn't be a world champ, i think Fedor's boxing is excellent. Jensens i don't think Fedor has fought a better boxer than himself.

I don't expect you to understand this concept, but...
Fedor while having very good boxing, has fought guys who have better technical boxing than he does.
Noguiera, and Cro Cop both have better pure boxing technique than Fedor does. Fedor however has adapted his skills to where they are very effective as opponents are so worried about him taking them down and submitting them, it opens up opportunities for his boxing.
Its very similar to the argument about St. Pierre's wrestling. Using Josh Koscheck as an example, in a regular wrestling match Kos in my opinion would take care of him handily. However when Kos, and others are in an MMA fight and forced to worry about St. Pierre punching them in the face it allows St. Pierre's already very good wrestling to prevail.

Exactamundo. Actually, Mirko is just a better striker then Fedor. People claim that Fedor outstruck Mirko in their fight, and it's not exactly true. Mirko was caught off guard for the firs t couple ofm inutes, because he had expected Fedor to look for the TD. Once he settled in, he outstruck Fedor in most of the exchanges, and hurt Fedor on more then one occasion, especially with his left straight. Fedor's trainer even acknowledges in interviews that Fedor lost the first round in a very close round, but then handily won the next two.
