Default UFC 97? Anyone watch it? Spoilers*

My wife is supremely happy that he man Shogun returned to form last night and beat the IceMan. Sorry to see Chuck go out like this, but he is finished. Anderson Silva did what he needed to to do despite the boos. Kang won a pretty boring decision. I love this guy Luis Cane. He beat up Steve Cantwell for three rounds. Won a few bucks on Shogun, which is nice. Any thoughts?

Too bad for Chuck that the old Shogun showed up. As soon as the fight started I though how he looked like his old self. His first two fights in the UFC were pretty bad and Chuck may have won one of those.

I don't see why Dana had to announce Chuck was done before Chuck got a chance to announce it.

The Silva-Leites fight was so boring! No action at all really. I kinda expected something more not so boring.

5 rounds only compounds the problem. Dana can't be happy, he always uses Silva as the PFP #1 guy when people mention Fedor.

He's not winning like he used to because people are studying his style.

After last night's fight, here is what Dana had to say about Fedor. I guess stopping two former UFC champs in his last two fights doesn't count for much these days.
"(WAMMA heavyweight champion) Fedor (Emelianenko) is not the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. These guys continue to fight the best. Fedor's at a buffet somewhere in Russia. So until this guy decides to get in shape, take it serious and consistently fight the best in the world, for you guys to even think about calling him the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world is insane."

So if Fedor was looking all pumped, chisled and jacked, Dana would take him more seriously? it sounds like Dana is pissed that some dude who looks like Bobby from King of the Hill is out there dispatching of his former champs with relative ease.

wait a minute... do they even have buffets in Russia?

I was pumped when I got Rua +175 online. The first low leg kick of the fight almost neutralized Chuck's entire attack.

I guess that's what you meant on facebook?

Shogun has dealt well with good strikers in the past (Overeem and that Diabate).

Its good if we have a contender again; Chuck was just looking to go out on a high note - possibly by getting a title shot and going out that way.

    Shogun/Liddell:

I was curious to see how this would play out, given that both had shitty preformances, both needed a big win. Chuck has his KO problem and Shogun his cardio problem. I didnt even pick a winner on this one but man Shogun looked damn good compared to his last two fights, taking it to Chuck all over the octagon eventually dropping his ass and KO'ing him right out of his fighting career.

    Silva/ Leites:

I'm always down for watching a fight go the distance, but damn, that fight was horrible, In fact the only good thing about it was that it cured my insomnia. I would bet that Silva never headlines in Canada again, unless its against GSP.

    just my 2 cents
