    Default Wec

I watched the WEC fights last night and thought they were fairly high quality and entertaining, but I still don't understand the point of the UFC not incorporating all of the top WEC fighters into the UFC.
IT was also on at the same time as a UNleashed on Spike, which also doesn't make sense to me.

It is not a a minor or development league, but it does not have the same depth as the UFC, so what is the pitn of having a seperate organization?

I've wondered the same thing myself. Maybe the idea is just to raise awareness of MMA?

I'd like to see more mobility between the WEC and UFC as well so we could see some of the better WEC guys getting more competition.

However, unless the UFC is willing to add a 135 and 145 lb division, they probably won't merge.

Which fights were shown last night? I didn't get a chance to watch it. Was it just the 3 title fights?

They also showed Leonard Garcia v. a Japanese fighter and Manny Tapia v. Antonio Banuelos.

Garcia previously fought Huerta and took a pounding but kept attacking for three rounds. He had a nice 1st round KO. Tapia and Banuelos was a good fight as well with a lot of nice exchanges.

WEC seemed to be featuring a lot of Hispanic and lightweight fighters, both I think are awesome for the sport. Torres looked awesome with his BJJ submitting Beebe.

I don't see why the UFC wouldn't add more lightweight divisions, they always seem to have great fights.

as I understand it, ufc owns wec, so in essnce it is the same org. I think thats why they feature different weight classes.

Personally, I like the WEC for a few reasons. First of all, the greater variety in Weight classes. Second of all, it isn't as deep so it appears that you get to see everyone fight everyone else. And they fight more often. Finally, its on ALL the time on VS. I never got into UFC but as my tastes for MMA have grown, I pay more attention to the WEC because its on more often.

I hope they don't change it. I don't mind different organizations for different weight classes.

    Haven't seen WEC yet.

Locally UFC is on "Spike" often. I really like their "Ultimate Fighter" show too.
