I agree, I think. He's a step above LIndland and HMC for Fedor to fight, more then one step, actually. But he's still just not that great.

I guess the question about Fedor really boils down to two things.

Do you think he's the best heavyweight in the world?

    Personally, I do.
I'm pretty sure that he is as well. It's hard to say with certainty, because he hasn't showcased his abilities against a top competitor in so long. But if asked to pick the best fighter at HW, then I'd probably go with Fedor.

Do you think he deserves the World #1 ranking?

This is debatable, and its something that I can see the other side of the argument to, to a point.

Even if you were to drop Fedor from the #1 slot, I think you're going to be really hard pressed to find a guy based on credentials to put there though.
I agree with what you're saying to a point, but I personally have dropped him in my rankings.

So you want to turn this into a creation vs. evolution debate alright lets do it.

In favor of anyone in particular, or was he just "dropped"?

    Just curious.

I have Couture ranked over him as well as Nogueira, but I'd predict Fedor to beat both. Couture needs to fight him in a cage to have a realistic shot to win the fight, and Nogueira isn't likely to ever beat Fedor. But as for ranking credentials based on recent fights, I have both over him. If he were to fight...well, how about a top 20 opponent, I'd probably move him back up. For instance, if he fought Monson or Rizzo, and beat them handily, I' d put him up to 1. If he won a lackluster fight, I'd move him up to 2. If he fought a guy like Sergei or Josh Barnett, and he beat them (no matter how it happened), I'd move him back to number one.

I think Fedor stole from Vak attack. This guy is crazy, he must really hate fedor, to spout such BS.

Couture beats tim Sylvia and GG and is better than Fedor, haha. If you didn't get the comemnts about HMC doing better than the UFC heavy weight champ i mean NOG. Fedor had problems with HMC but beat Nog into the ground.

I think you are just a weird odd guy vak attack.

I think you might have a special relationship with Fedor to write so irrationally! No one is untouchable, and that is all Vak is saying. And I know that you're an engineer so you think that things like grammar and punctuation aren't important, but half the time, I have no clue what you're trying to say. For example:

If you didn't get the comemnts about HMC doing better than the UFC heavy weight champ i mean NOG. Fedor had problems with HMC but beat Nog into the ground.

You may want to work on being a little bit more clear. What you wrote there is just incomprehensible.

bluestater, my grammar is not great. It is because i write in a rush. Don't worry, my grammar is much better in my university reports, ok?

What i said was that; HMC put up a better fight against Fedor than Noguiera did. Noguiera was beaten like ginger haired step child whereas HMC inflicted damage and got two takedowns.

I think you will find every thing i have said is fair and justified. No one in MMA has a record like Fedor and even Vak attack stated his pretend number 1and 2 would lose to Fedor. He might claim they have done very well recently and fedor has not, however i don't think they have beaten high level competition. Noguiera has beat Herring and Sylvia, these two are not top competition. Couture has beat GG and Sylvia, once again who?

Niether of these guys have done that great recently, while Fedor is on a 24 fight win streak. With his last 3 fights being against a K1 GP champ, a top name in K1 with a huge weight advantage and an olympic level wrestler with lots of MMA experience.
I think you guys need to need to sort your heads out. You are going crazy.

Frank Mir is also disappointed in Fedor's choice of opponents:

HA! HMC was submitted in under 4 minutes. Even Fedor said the only reason his face was marked up was because of mat burn. HMC did nothing. You are a joke.
