No disrepect here, but if you didn't watch the fight, you can't say he outboxed him. Arguing semantics here is minor, but I watched every second of it and the stats don't tell the story.
I watched it, and I personally think De La Hoya won the total fight, not just the last four rounds, which I would concede three to Mayweather.
Mayweather's own father, Mayweather Sr also felt De La Hoya won the fight, telling the HBO audience. "I thought Oscar won the fight on points, threw more punches and was more aggressive," adding: "My son had good defense and caught a lot of his punches, but I still thought Oscar pressed enough to win the fight."
