Thread: Mir VS Lesnar/Tim VS Nog

Brock looked more "inexperienced" than I expected. I assume he had top notch grappling training and would have been better prepared for submission attempts.

If you get a chance, watch his 1st takedown closely. Mir came very close catching Brock with a knee when he shoots. Sort of like the time Koscheck got knocked out with a knee while shooting.

I was suprised the people were booing Brock. Maybe because Mir is from Vegas??

I am a big fan and hope he sticks with it and becomes are regular fixture in MMA.

Did anyone notice how closely Kurt Angle was watching as Sylvia and Nogueira were entering the ring. I bet Kurt was wishing he was 10 years younger.

They booed Brock at first but then they cheered after his interview. Perhaps the MMA crowd that doesnt know much about his wrestling background other than WWE didnt respect him as a fighter and thought this was a stunt. I would like to see him in the Militich camp or with Cotoure and really get well rounded.

I bet Kurt Angle would have been a force in MMA if he didnt have the neck issues and if they paid more when they first started he may have chose that path.

I wish I could find video clips of Kurt Angle when he briefly worked as a sports newscaster on a local Pittsburgh station.

He was so bad that it was comical.

You know, he didn't jump right into WWE. He told them "no" a few times and tried to make a living doing other things.

If MMA was big back then, no doubt he would have gone into it and would have done well.

I have seen some of his news anchor stuff on a documentary someone did on him, and it was funny.

Lesnar need to learn Grappling (freestyle/greco/catch wrestling + bjj).
Lesnar will have the belt (UFC) by 2010, that is my prediction

Basically Mir was gonna get stopped by Lesnar then the ref stood them up because obviously they didn't wanna see Mir get battered, Mir then composed himself and managed to submit Lesnar.

However the stand up was a joke, and Lesnar should ahve won.

That wasn't a good stylistic match-up for Lesnar.
