I think so, with Shammy being the guy with a best shot cause he's a decent wrestler...keep in mind the era that this would be happening in.

he might have been the favorite beforehand because of his reputation, but if he entered the octagon and tried to box would have been destroyed.

UFC 1 occurred after his loss to Douglas. It might have been around the same time he was in the slammer.

In UFC 1 the only rule if I remember correctly were no biting, no eye gouging, no fish hooking, or strike to the groin. Tyson would have had trouble with a good take down artist with a decent ground game. How heavy was Royce 180 maybe Tyson might have out muscled him for a while. I think Tyson makes a mistake and Royce would submit him or choke him out.

Royce was a good size 77 pounder, I would have to say he went 200+ easy.
I think Tyson would have held his own against most.
Royce wouldn't have even needed a "payday" fight for Tyson, he would have just done it for fun. 1 tough dude!

Actually for the first few UFC's strike to the groin was perfectly legal.

He was talking about Gracie, not Alger...

On the actual question, I think Ken drops down and leglocks him. Then maybe Royce gets a TD, or maybe even pulls guard, but one punch from Tyson to any of these guys and its over.
