Why would it be strange that FILA wants to alter and slowly destroy another sport to the brink of failure?

I wonder what an MMA clinch would look like. One guy locks up an arm bar, the other guy has to defend?

Destroy??? Fokstyle wrestling has destroyed wrestling in USA not freestyle or greco-roman or FILA!
Grappling is another success by FILA...and wrestling's popularity increase.

Has Sumo wrestling or Judo destroyed wrestling in Japan? No. Folkstyle is just the closest thing the US has to a home grown Martial Art, it is more focused on controlling your opponent than the "international" styles. Folkstyle is also closer to Grappling, in my opinion, than either Greco or Freestyle. I relate this to the Boxing vs. MMA arguement. Both sports can live and be enjoyed.

P.S. FILA creates strange rules year to year that confuse and turn off the regular Olympic viewer to the sport. This, in my opinion, is one way FILA slowly destorys wrestling.

In Greco-Roman and Freestyle there are control techniques, high amplitude throws and slams.
Grappling (No-Gi and Gi) is similar to bjj with better takedowns and adds catch wrestling/luta livre/sambo techniques.

The new rules (2009-2012) are very similar to 2001-2004 period. The problem was in 2004-2008 (see greco-roman coin!).
In my opinion if team USA win the rules are perfect, if team USA loss the rules are s..t

World MMA Committee is led by Fukuda, FILA Vice-president!
In my opinion Sengoku is better than ufc.

So the best and fastest strategy to get MMA into the Olympics is to put it under FILA and get MMA in as a subcategory of Wrestling.
