So the best and fastest strategy to get MMA into the Olympics is to put it under FILA and get MMA in as a subcategory of Wrestling.
    I agree.

P.S. FILA creates strange rules year to year that confuse and turn off the regular Olympic viewer to the sport. This, in my opinion, is one way FILA slowly destorys wrestling.

um, I will prolly change my mind when it happens but as of now I don't want to see Olympic MMA (MMA light). Olympic boxing sucks so I don't know if I would really want to see MMA with tanktops and shin guards or open hand strikes.

Fukuda is vice president of FILA and president of World Victory Road Sengoku. In my opinion there aren't MMA light! MMA light is pankration athlima.

That is what I was getting at. I see Olympic MMA turning into a Pankration tournament. Moonboots/shinguards and all. The Olympics won't allow "full" MMA due to the Olympic Tournament style of event it would be. Just an opinion though.

P.S. Like I said maybe when it happens I will like it. It could turn into a training ground for future pros like Olympic style boxing (boxing light).

The biggest problem I foresee is that MMA fighters wouldn't want to fight in the Olympics for free. The injury rate is pretty high in MMA.

Also I don't see Dana just letting his UFC fighters fight in the Olympics for nothing.
Especially if they get squashed by someone like Fedor or even upset by an unknown.

So it would probably be unknown amateur fighters in the event unless it was something like Combat Sambo with full head gear and protection. Even then it would be primarily non UFC fighters as the UFC fighters have exclusive contracts with the UFC.

Don't you think something could be worked out between the UFC and the IOC? Professional athletes (NBA, NHL, pro tennis circuit etc) compete in the Olympics already.

The problem is the injury rate (career ending, serious injury) is so much higher in MMA than in the NBA, NHL or tennis.

The best you could hope for is something like combat sambo with head gear and protective padding.
