With all the stuff that Gono managed to pull, I don't see why Akiyama couldn't do the bit where he stands there then goes to his knees before walking out, as long as they get that song approved.

No gi's in the octagon though, that's for sure.

The infamous juggo of Sherdog. A welcome addition. I post over there (well, i've had three incarnations), but my current one is CCH. Before that I was MMAth Major and CroCopHughes. Always a fan of your posting. Welcome to the board.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

Heh, thanks man. 2x2x2x actually told me to come check it out. Looks like a good place to stay up on NCAA wrestling news.

Just curious, why do they keep banning you? lol I've been dubbed twice for silly reasons myself.

Ehh, once I got banned during the whole James Thompson War Wagon fiasco, I think I just got caught in the crossfire. I jsut didn't care enough to fight it. The second time I was really bored, so I set up a rickroll that got like 300 responses, and one of the mods who didn't like me banned me right off and had a very vindictive "reason" for banning me.

Excellent, glad you made it over juggo. I am 2x on sherdog, I wanted to bring over some knowledgeable posters, if there are any others that you think would be good additions feel free to invite them.

I guess it might be the same way if you told someone in Japan that Randy Couture was one of America's most celebrated MMA fighters, given his record of 16-9. Really though, Japan's MMA talent is mostly at 170 and under. They don't have a lot of top fighters at MW/LHW/HW. But those three are the best of the bunch, currently, I'd say, even though Akiyama is ethnically Korean.

Misaki's biggest win is over Dan Henderson (and I believe he was the only guy to beat Henderson at 183 in PRIDE), was the first guy to beat Phil Baroni by just standing with him, has wins over Denis Kang, Joe Riggs, Ed Herman, and actually KO'd Akiyama (though it was later changed to a NC once it was determined the kick was illegal). He's a very durable guy with good hands and power, a good chin and generally sufficient offensive/defensive submission skills. He can be outwrestled though, which is a reason for some of his losses (e.g. Trigg).
