You think Mir could beat Arlovski? Come on, Nog is way past his prime and wasn't impressive in any of his UFC fights. Mir is honestly only a challenge to people he can submit and he could not submit Fedor. When Mir said fewer than 5 people in the world could beat him in a fight, I'm pretty sure he had Fedor in mind.
Mir is full of crap, don't believe a thing he says. There are many people who could beat him in a fight, and some of them, he can beat too. It's a fight, anything can happen. Look at what Vera did to him and look at what he did to Minotauro. Every time out you run the risk of getting smashed.

Claudale, Fedor is a fantastic fighter, top 3 in my book, but there isn't much left for him outside the UFC, that's a fact. There is new blood in the UFC that he hasn't faced and don't count Lesnar out just yet. Mir is looking fantastic and so are the contenders I named. I'm not saying Fedor would lose to all of those guys, but they do make for compalling matchups. Or you'd rather see him against Rothwell or Rodriguez?
    Lets go Brent!

the ufc's hwt division is a mess. there's nothing in there. people are talking about mir being at fedor's level now when is was better known as an announcer not long ago. the fact that the younger inexperience guys in the ufc are mentioned to pump up that org speaks volumes. i like cain velasquez but, let's be real.

Again I just want to know who all the great heavyweights are outside of the UFC.

    UFC Heavyweights
    1. Mir
    2. Lesnar
    3. Couture
    4. Nog
    5. Gonzaga
    6. Kongo
    7. Herring
    8. Velasquez

    Heavyweights outside of UFC
    1. Fedor
    2. Barnett
    3. Sylvia- 1-3 in last four fights
    5. Oveereem- has been on a surge and could be on his way to ufc
    4. Arlovski- has moved to professional boxing
    5. Werdum- knocked out in the ufc by a guy i didnt even list
    6. Kharitonov- whens the last time he beat someone relevant?
    7. A emelianko- see number 6

Id say the two list are pretty equal. Fedor is by far the best heavyweight but the ufc guys have been much more active. Aleks and Kharitonov had not had a relevant win in the last two years and Arlovski is now moving on to boxing.

PJers, you forgot Kimbo on that list of outside the UFC hwts.

also didnt Kharitonov beat Overeem about a year or two ago? either way that outside list destroys the UFC, the only small test on there for Fedor would be Randy, but only if it was the Natural of a year ago.
Like Billy Jacks' soul attack, I'm one Injun you wont forget.

I just read an interview with Bas where he left Kimbo for doing bad things.

Khartinov beat Oveereem in 2007 before the resurgence (juicing) of Oveereem started.

Outside of Fedor the lists are very comparable and I could see an argument being made for the UFC heavyweights.

There is Fedor and there is everyone else and I dont see anyone beating him or challenging at this time regardless of organization. The only challenge he has on the horizon is Lesnar in a year or so once he has some more experience and has continued to build up his sub defense.

I agree that Overeem is a talent, juiced or not. He's so tall and long, but he doesn't lack for strength. He's kind of a nutjob, but the dude is a born fighter.

Not sure I'm ready to buy the UFC's HWT division being any stronger than the non-UFC HWTs. Versus Darth Fedor, Mir would fold like a BJ "Pigg" Penn fat roll. Lesnar could present a real challenge at some point, but he's years away from being Josh Barnett circa 2009.

The main reason I want Fedor in the UFC is that they are in a position to develop the most competition over the next few years. It's inescapable that non-UFC talent, for the most part, is fruit rotting on the vine. Essentially, the talent level ain't gonna get better, it's going to continue a slow decline.

He's an obnoxious scrotewank, but Jazzwell Boxington White is the only game in town.
    I heart Jazzy B. White.

I think there is more talent outside of the UFC but many of the fighters have issues. Arlovski has fallen in love with boxing, Aleks has heptatitis and cant fight in the states, and Kharitnov is not looking like his old self. Kharitonov was one of the guys I wanted in the UFC but the last couple of years he has seemed to lose his edge. I dont know if Sylvia has lost his edge as Adolf has suggested but he needs to get back on the right track. Barnett is great and I have him ranked as a number two right now but I dont see him beating Fedor and after that there wont be anything left for Fedor.

Fedor just proved he can take out has-beens. Where's Larry Homes?

When it comes to the negotiations between UFC & Fedor, both sides are being unreasonable.

As far as the heavyweight division, things are tough all over ... it's just weak overall, UFC or not. And if Overeem is juicing, he's not only not going to be in the UFC but he's also not going to fight Fedor in any other org in the US. They all are subject to testing, are they not?
