You may find yourself surprised, Mr. Oliverbush. The gentlemen behind Strikeforce are the only company that runs at a profit other then the vaunted industry leader UFC. If ever there is going to be someone who truly competes with the UFC, it will be these guys. Even the much respected Dana White has had nothing but positive things to say about the guys at Strikeforce. I'm not saying we WILL have a competitor, but that this is the first group I think MAY have a chance.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

I can accept that. They are a top notch group. A breath of fresh air from what's been out there.

Adolf, you better hope they survive otherwise you will have to resort to watching old youtube videos of your beloved Kimbo Slice.

I'll tell you Pimach, at least Kimbo Slice goes for it on those youtube videos. Some of these MMA guys act like they are fighters, just because they know fighting techniques, but they are afraid of actually mixing it up. I've seen guys run from each other, refuse to engage, show no warrior spirit, etc. It disgusts me. I just watched a youtube fight video the other day and the guy in it kicking a$$ was all heart and technique. Made me proud. Long live Kimbo.

I assume that you are reffering to the beatdown vid I posted recently? I was quite impressed by what I saw also, so much so that I have considered moving to New Mexico to train with Villasenor, so that he could teach me the techniques he displayed in that vid.

Please whatever you do avoid learning any takedown techniques from him. That was godawful and I thought Villasenor would have been better in that area working with wrestlers such as Van Arsdale.

that was quite a bearhug that he applied, couldnt you tell by the force it put on his back? I thought that dude was gonna bend backwards, luckily for him he squirmed and made it to the side and went down.

Pimach, we've all wrestled and we've all trained. The thing that PJ doesn't understand is that in a street fight situation, with multiple opponents and weapons involved, you do not do things in the conventional manner, every single time. He's looking for a textbook shot or high level clinch work, etc. It just doesn't happen like that in most cases and we have to accept that because of his lack of experience, he just wouldn't know that.

You can see the same thing I see, a buckling bear hug/variation into a knee tap that works to precision. Hell, I've seen Randy Couture dragging guys down and on to the mat in what looks like a little school yard trip or elementary take down, (for those of us who wrestled as kids). The point is that with so many options from your opponent to strike and injure you, you have to do what's immediately available and you have to stay out of danger. One false move On the street and pj can't simply tap out like he does in class, it's hospital time.

And speaking of Van Arsdale, watch his take down attempts of a young Wanderlei Sivla, the stuff PJ would be calling godawful....
