Rashad just finds a way to win...
Depressing night for me.
Nice to see CB win, he earned it. None of this "Massenzio beat himself and no way CB can take him down" crap. CB is a better fighter, at least on this night.
Kongo looked like a monster.
Hard to see my man Wanderlei get beat by Rampage like that. I still think Prime Wanderlei beats Prime Rampage most times, but here and now, rampage just put it on Wandy. Those extra shots at the end were total bush league, though.
Mir looked spectacular. I thought it was stopped early, but one of my buddies said that on a replay you could see Nog go limp, at least for a few seconds, so I'll have to watch again. Still, there was no doubt who was dominating that fight up til that point. Mir looked fantastic, and no excuses about Nog looking old. Nog always takes punishment like that. But I think Lesnar will demolish Mir this time around.
Forrest-Rashad. Forrest loked great, won both the first and second rounds, and then slipped, and Rashad capitalized in a big way. Those were monstrous shots that he laid on Forrest to end the fight. I still like Forrest better, but Rashad is an elite fighter and deserved the win tonight.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.
One, two, Evans is coming for you...
Rashad Evans (Wrestling backgrond, Junior College National Champion for Niagara ).
CB Dollaway (Wrestling background, NCAA wrestling All-American)
Quinton Jackson (Wrestling background)
Matt Hamill (Wrestling background)
Frank Mir (state heavyweight Wrestling title in 1998.)
Very bummed to see Wanderlei get dropped, but you got to give Rampage his due.
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become."
I think Lesnar will blow Mir out of the water this time. He destroyed him the first 90 seconds of the fight last time had a questionable decision against him and then made a rookie mistake. Now he will have another year and a half of training under his belt including a title fight so I dont see him having any problems. Mir will still have no answer for his wrestling and gnp and Lesnars sub defense should be up to the task.
Mir was very impressive and his stand up was definitely the best I have ever seen from him but was more shocking was how bad Nog looked. He was so slow it was sad to watch, it was like Mir was beating up a punching bag.
Leglace, in your breakdown you failed to mention that Massenzio had a busted leg. Massenzio must have rocks in his head why would you guilotine someoen after rocking them particularly when that person is an all american wrestler. What was most disappointing was watching him give up mount then his back so easily, then proceeded to get pounded and then complain that it was an early stoppage.
Evans was having trouble with Forrests length but as I mentioned I thought he would catch Forrest at some point. Evans has great power and Forrests chin is a little suspect so it was just a matter of time before Evans caught up to him. Rampage vs. Evans makes the most sense at this point.
It was disappointing because he had the goods to beat CB. I thought he was showing superior boxing. Though CB wasn't doing too bad himself. Especially his kicks. But it takes good decision making to win in this sport. I was fuming the rest of the night. That was a lost opportunity.
I said the same thing ... except I added "WTF leglace?!? You're supposed to tell me he has a bum leg before I pick him!"

I wish I could kick Matt Dragon in the balls. In his Dragonballz.
