Sounds like he went over Dana's head. I like how he says it in a subtle way, so it's a digat Dana, but not really.

Yea I did like the fact that he at least dealt with Lorenzo. It just sucks because him and his camp were forced to buckle and now its even more unlikely of fighters ever standing up to the UFC.

I know it would have been a pay cut but its not like Fitch would have been out of work. Look at the pay affliction is giving out and he could have easily fought with them or strikeforce or dream or sengoku etc.

But nobody knows how long Affliction will be around for. Originally they said they were only doing 3 events. Not to mention that he would still lose almost all of his sponsorship deals.

Gotta get that paper. I think the sponsorships were probably a big deal as he said he was set to lose something like 80% of the ones he had.

I'd have liked to see him stand tall on it, but like Zapp said he's the one who has to make a living.

    From the article on Sherdog:

As for the fates of welterweight contender Josh Koscheck and heavyweight prospect Cain Velasquez -- both of whom were rumored to be next on the chopping block -- as well as heavyweight Christian Wellisch, who was cut along with Fitch on Wednesday, Cook stated that all of the fighters have worked out agreements to remain with the UFC.
To be honest with you, I think they accomplished something. They either got the deal changed, or they stood up to Dana and showed him that he's not the end all be all. Either thign is a good thing.

I hope so. It could also be that white publicly ripped apart aka and cut fitch and then fitch and the boys folded on their stance and signed anyway.

I understand fitch has to make a living its just sad to see dana bully fighters and their management into submission.

Just to give another perspective from the head guy at ATT:

    Dan Lambert:

"All of our guys signed off on [on the exclusive videogame-rights agreement]," Lambert said. "I don't really think they were giving that much up, anyways. I didn't really see much of a demand for a videogame deal outside of the UFC. So I didn't think I was doing a disservice to my guys in recommending that they sign the deal. [The UFC] takes care of our guys in more ways than one. So, no problems on our end."

Ha ha ha ha you guys care so much about the fighters and despise evil Dana to such a degree, that I understand many of you are now noycotting in protest. Bwahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahaha. The fighters themselves refuse to leave for these imaginary greener pastures that yall keep urging them to bolt to. Ha ha, it must not be so bad if these guys seem to accept any terms just to be able to stick around the UFC. But why, you ask? Because its the best fuking thing going and if these guys want to be famous, get pu$$y like rockstars, and get rich in the process, they aint going to fukken do it outside of the UFC. Half the guys (who aren't college wrestlers) aren't qualified for a counter person position at the local Jack in the box.

So keep it up. Keep boycotting. Hell, don't even watch the fights at all, that will show Dana. Meanwhile, the fighters will continue to beg Dana White to let them fight for peanuts, just let them into the UFC. I'm with Dana White and the fighters on this one. The rest of you can go hug a tree or some thing
