Default White shreds ESPN's coverage of MMA while on ESPN

If Dana White has an issue with someone at least he'll say it directly to their face. ESPN has lagged with its coverage of MMA. The 'Worldwide Leader' may be coming around as it latching onto UFC 91. White made an appearance ESPN's morning show First Take but didn't hesitate to mention that the company's editorial judgement sucks at times.

Michael Kim asked White about what Kimbo Slice has done for MMA:

"He's (done) nothing. He's set us back," said White. "The fact that he was on the cover of ESPN the Magazine makes me ill."

White also explains why Brock Lesnar is getting the fight against UFC heavyweight champ Randy Couture. He expects the fight card to haul in 1.2 million pay-per-view buys.

He also gives a great answer to why Lesnar walked out on a recent television interview question about steroids. White said Lesnar is moody even with him.

I think the term "shreds" might be a little strong here.

I think it's a bit of a jab at both, but would also agree that "shreds" is a little strong.

At least he told the truth
    1. ESPN and other sports broadcasts lack the coverage of MMA (it is a huge and growing sport)
    2. Kimbo did take MMA back a step. He might have had a few fights and has alot of people asking about him, but he was not the image and fighter that MMA or UFC really wants to represent exept to get ratings for TV.

I also think the comment about Brock on steriods was dumb. He gets moody-come on. Just admit that he once used them and now has stopped due to strict commisioning tests. Stop defending people that should not be doing the wrong things (not that he is anymore, but his appearence has certainly changed since his days on WWE).

I don't think JB was 'telling the truth'. He was giving his very biased opinion. The truth is, there is nothing wrong with Kimbo, other than he is not an elite fighter. He didn't do anything to reflect negatively on the sport after he became an MMA fighter. He brought a huge amount of buzz to MMA, bringing in new viewers and helping to sell ad time. Elite certainly had its issues, but there's nothing wrong at all with Kimbo. It's not necessarily the best fighters that put butts in the seats--it's the ones who create 'heat', and Kimbo did just that.

    LOL@ JB...Brock is just 'moody'.
    I heart Jazzy B. White.
