Not sure about the Brown Belt, I already deleted the episode, but I have spoke with him and people do not understand the editing that takes place on teh show. He told me that there was even more to the Nog situation and that he was not that mad for the reasons that we thought. Who knows but I think the UFC edits to those that they want to later promote or will be having fight for them.

By the way, I think it's a fair bet to say that Vinny will not come close to equalling the career of one of the top 5 MMA fighters of all time, in Big nog.

    1. All of Nog's losses are to top tier MMA fighters (Hendo, Fedor, Barnett)

    2. Nog has never been stopped, and especially never "verbally submitted".

    3. After the Mir fight, he'll have fought just about every relevant HW during his time frame, and he has beaten all of them except for Fedor.

Zapp - The question raised has nothing to do with whether Vinny will ever match Nog's MMA career. It's whether or not he mouthed off about being better at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and if so, was he justified in thinking he is better at that discipline.

    1. Greco Zag had said that it was harsh to say he would never equal Nog's accomplishments, or come remotely close.

    2. He's justified to express his opinion whenever he wants, even if he's terrible, because it's a free country; but it was still a d-bag move.

    1. Greco said that saying he would never amount to anything was harsh. But, he did also note that saying that Vinny would never even come close was dumb because he's young and you don't know where he could go from here - and I agree with him there. None of us has a crystal ball, and Vinny does have some ability and skills to build on with many years ahead of him. How many people would've said Forrest would beat Shogun and Rampage and be the UFC champ back when he was on Season 1? or would've said Chuck would get KTFO by Rashad when Evans was on TUF?
    2. The extent to which it was a d-bag move depends on how much the story was exaggerated when it got passed on to Nog (presumably from Nog's team members who may have stretched it a bit). I don't recall seeing footage of Vinny actually saying the more disparaging comments - only Nog recounting what he was told by others. What we actually saw Vinny say was in his conversation with Mir, which was pretty tame compared to what Nog quoted as what he was upset about.

I thought he said that that Nog did not compete in the big bjj competition past brown belt.

Mir kind of fed him some of the disparaging remarks, too. This show has made me like Nogueira even more and Mir a decent amount less.

Indeed. I went in kind of rooting for Mir just because he was such a huge underdog, but now...
