Dingo posted this in another thread:
In Gi BJJ tournaments-3Xworld champion in the heavy weight, super heavy weight, and absolute divisions
-2X Brazilian National Heavy weight champion
    -6X Rio De Janeiro State Champion in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005
-US Open Champion and 2007 Grapplers Quest West Coast Champion.
-2007 North American Tournament Champion in no gi submission grappling
-winner of the Pan-American Grappling Championship
-submission wrestling win over Abu Dhabi champ Robert Drysdale

So on pure bjj its not really an argument.

Tough to argue with those credentials.

kind of silly post, those two videos are like apples and oranges the nog one is mma and half of it is standup anyway. Nog is clearly one of the best MMA bjj guys ever, but from what it sounds like Vinny definitely has better pure BJJ credentials
    Gold is an idiot.

All that and a bag of chips will still not change his MMA credentials:

Obviously he has better credentials then Minotauro in pure BJJ, but he's on a MMA show, and should have showed more respect who has done probably triple what Vinny will ever do in the sport, and calling it "BJJ basic" and NOg a "brownbelt" was effed up.

I do not think Vinny would argue with Nogs mma credentials. But the topic of conversation was in regards to bjj so the mma credentials were irrelevant.

I dont think saying someones bjj is basic is a bad thing at all. Even Vinny clarified by saying that his was not necessarily better but different.

He might come off that way but he is actually pretty cool. When I first met him i had trained with him for 1 pratice and we went to a grappling tournament. He sat in my corner and argued calls for me. I barely knew him but he was willing to step in and help me out.

To say that he will not amount to anything close to Nog is just dumb at this point. Vinnny is so young and is learning a great amount. He has many years to develop. Nog is a legand and will be hard to top, but too say that Vinny will never amount to anything is harse.

    Interesting.

I agree he seems like a good prospect at this point.

I've seen Vinny post over at The Ultimate Fighter boards, and he does seem pretty cool there. I do think, though, that "in real life" he may do or say things in the moment that he later regrets.

Didn't he also call Nog a brown belt?
