Default Anyone hearing rumors of Anderson-Liddell?

I know some of you guys may have a few more connections then me, but I've been hearing rumors about a potential Anderson Silva-Chuck Liddell superfight being added to UFC 92. Anyone else?

I heard small rumors of it on sherdog but I also heard that Chuck was offered to fight Franklin on the Ireland card but said he wanted to wait until spring to fight again.

I think Adolf is the only one on here who actually knows fighters.

I know one fighter that was on TUF and has a UFC win on his record.

If Chuck takes on Silva at 92, we're going to see him knocked out by yet another black man. And let me tell you, getting knocked out by a black man hurts!

Dana's not happy about that fight so nothing would surprise me. During the prefight he said something about XXX having to be a complete idiot not to think Anderson was clearly the best fighter in the world. Obviously aimed at Fedor fans, and now AS fought an unranked guy to an unusual victory.

Chuck may not want that fight.

He's a weight class lower (so the loss looks worse), I imagine he has more reach than Chuck (which he uses well) and taking a fight he's likely to lose will result in the end of his career falling apart. Sure he'd like to beat someone credible and then take a final shot at glory then go out (I have to think that Dana doesn't want to pay him $500g a fight at this point either)

Chuck has nothing to gain and everything to lose by fighting Silva. It makes no sense for him to take it, especially since Silva has nothing to lose. His belt won't be on the line.

I have to disagree with Chuck having nothing to gain. Anderson has not lost in the UFC and is considered the best in the world. If Chuck could beat him, it would finish his legacy with a huge win over the best. Other than that, he does not have much to gain except for the HUGE payday.

i think chuck would present many problems for anderson. he's hard to take down and hits like a sledge hammer. this would be an entertaining fight to say the least. i think anderson would not walk thru the 205's like he does the 185's. i still can't understand how he makes that cut. is it just me or did anderson appear to lose a little power against cote who took a couple a shots that would have ended most fighters night with a little nappy time. bring on silva v. lidell, i'd buy that ppv. and that's what it's all about. ppv = revenue.
but then again, i may be retarded
