At least Alves has made himself into an exciting contender with wins over Karo, Hughes and Koscheck. I don't remember his loss against Fitch but I remember his loss against Fisher - he's twice as thick now. I'm confident that he'll match the level of steriods in GSP's veins should they square off. GSP couldn't survive some of the shots that Koscheck handled so as long as Alves isn't taken down at will, I think he stops GSP.

Silva has to be faulted in that main event - really didn't throw that many punches or kicks. 5 rounds of that would have been even worse if things never opened up.

I wonder why they are always tinkering with the bonus money? Always going up or down by $5 or $10 grand.

Good for Sherk and Griffin, but I think Koscheck probably deserved it, he fought through a lot of punishment and took that fight on short notice

Pretty sure it's based of expected PPV sales. Lorenzo said something to that effect in an interview.

I agree with you Claudale that Alves vs GSP could end in GSP sleeping. Alves is just a load and must hit like a truck. GSP doesn't like geting hit and has shown that he wants out of the fight if he is getting beat.

I disagree with you 100%, however, that the Spider is at fault because Cote couldn't continue. You can't possibly know that Silva was goig to dance and try to carry Cote the whole 5 rounds. It looked to me like Silva turned it up at the end of the 2nd orund and was going to pressure Cote in the 3rd. How can we blame Silva when it was Cote who collapsed in the face of the Silva on slaught? Are we sure Cote didn't want out of there before he got Franklined?
    Lets go Brent!
