He should have tried for the takedown earlier and then alves destroyed his legs and he had no chance of getting the takedown. Eitehr way Alves is a monster that was an impressive performance.

I think GSP beats Alves but I could see Alves beating Penn.

I think Cote read the thread on this board on how to beat someone better than you.

He is slowing down the fight and trying look for something big at the end.

    3rd round about to begin...

Oh well, Cote injures his knee without contact early on in the 3rd. TKO

I want my $45 dollars back...

What an awful Main Event, Anderson dances around and throws occasional flurries for two rounds then Cote blows out his knee.

That was very anti climatic. Anderson seemed more intent on putting on a show rather then putting away Cote. Cote was a game fighter but it is ashame for both fighters and the fans that it ended that way.

The fans in the arena are douchebags booing at every moment then booing Cote. I am glad I was not there to be associated with it.

Silva was overly passive, wanting Cote to attack him, setting up the counter attack... but Cote wouldn't take the bait. This strategy made for a boring fight.

He may have exposed Silva a bit.

Maybe other fighters will build on Cote's game plan and find a way to beat Silva?

I don't think Silva is exposed at all. The thing that makes him so dangerous is that he has too many weapons and can adapt to his opponents style and exploit them. Assuming the fight went the distance, Cote would probably still have lost. There was never a moment when he had Silva in danger.
