Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

Wow, I'm shocked that JB would jump all over Seth's ambiguous comments. He's slipping on his f-bomb percentages. Not nearly enough JB f-bombs.
    I heart Jazzy B. White.

Ambiguous? Seems pretty straightforward to me:

"The promoters kinda hinted to me and they gave me the money to stand and throw with him, they didn't want me to take him down. Let's just put it that way. It was worth my while to try and stand up punch him."

His later comments make no sense.

BTW, here's the Gary Shaw piece:

But Elite XC consultant Gary Shaw said he wouldn't hesitate to "go to a fighter and say, 'We're looking for a stand-up fight.' You're not asking him to throw a fight. You're talking about a fan-friendly fight, not about protecting Kimbo."

Shaw said he has urged MMA fighters in the past to maximize the action, to avoid an abundance of yawn-inspiring wrestling.

    More from Big Shaw:

"You're not asking him to throw a fight. You're talking about a fan-friendly fight, not about protecting Kimbo. Do I think that's unethical? No. Because in MMA, you get bonus money for a knockout. I don't see it as unethical . . . asking him to be TV and fan friendly." -- former EliteXC head Gary Shaw to The Los Angeles Times.

I have no problem with what Shaw said. I am sure most promoters have similar conversations.

I have a huge problem with what Shaw said. The between the lines meaning is fight this way or we wont be happy with you. Of course this is a reality in mixed martial arts, outside of the UFC.

The dirty underbelly of Elite XC is being exposed by none other than Shaw himself. by telling someone that they are looking for a stand up fight is attempting to dictate the fight itself, like Adolf said do this or were not gonna be happy with you. and them not protecting Kimbo is BS.
Like Billy Jacks' soul attack, I'm one Injun you wont forget.

Agreed, Herr Oliverbush. I, for once, really agree with White on this.
